Sri Lanka added batters Kamil Mishara and Sahan Arachchige to its squad ahead of the second Test against India at the SSC Ground in Colombo, starting Sunday.
With Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka missing due to injury and former captain Dinesh Chandimal giving the Test a skip after suffering from concussion in Galle, the batting contingent has been bolstered.
Arachchige, who has already made his debut for the Island nation in the limited-over formats, has replaced Ramesh Mendis who was not selected in the playing eleven last time out.
The youngster will most likely be the backup to Pasindu Sooriyabandara, who was drafted in as a substitute after Chandimal’s injury.
Mishara is likely to come in at the top of the order for Nishan Fernando, who had a difficult Test match last time out.
India leads the two-match series 1-0 following a 165-run win in Galle.
Sri Lanka squad for second Test:
Lahiru Udara, Kamil Mishara, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Kamindu Mendis (Vice Captain), Dhananjaya De Silva (Captain), Sahan Arachchige, Sonal Dinusha, Niroshan Dickwella, Keshara Nuwantha, Prabath Jayasuriya, Milan Ratnayake, Lahiru Kumara, Asitha Fernando, Vishwa Fernando.
