Ric Flair is going after online trolls again, and this time he wants names, since he’s tired of them hiding behind aliases.
After recently defending his wrestling legacy and demanding that people start calling him a “Legend,” Flair returned to Twitter with another message aimed directly at the people criticizing him online, this time, the WWE Hall of Famer took issue with anonymous accounts and trolls, saying he has no problem debating people if they are willing to use their real names and identities.
“What’s Sad Is All The People That Hate Under An Alias. Let’s Have Your Real Names And Identity. I’ll Talk To You All Individually. We Can Explain Our Differences In Opinion.”
Flair then leaned into his larger-than-life persona, inviting haters to contact him while making it clear he believes he’s doing just fine. In the end, he just made it clear that he’s had enough of online negativity: “Dial 1-800-Ric Flair Famous. Get Back To Me. I’ve Got More Money Than I Have Time! I’m Tired Of All The Social Media Trolls.”
The latest comments come just days after Flair found himself at the center of multiple controversies involving his health, his public dispute with David Flair, and a series of emotional social media posts. Flair has since attempted to redirect attention toward his accomplishments in wrestling, repeatedly reminding people of the schedule he worked and the money he believes he made for the industry.
“If All Of You Haters Don’t Realize What I Have Done In The Business Of Professional Wrestling To Make A Fortune For A Lot Of People, Let Me Remind You. 300 Times A Year, One Hour A Night For 10 Years. This Is A Chapter In Life That Will Never Be Replaced Or Duplicated. Get Back To Me When You’ve Been There. From Now On- Don’t Call Me Ric, Call Me LEGEND!”
Whether people agree with him or not, Flair clearly isn’t interested in quietly ignoring criticism. If anything, his tweet suggests he’s more than willing to engage with his haters— provided they’re willing to step out from behind a screen name first.
Do you think Ric Flair is right to call out anonymous trolls, or is he giving them exactly the attention they want? Let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.
