Non league club Quorn AFC are reportedly facing ‘race against time’ to put a competitive squad together for the 2026/27 season.

On the 14th of May, Quorn said they have “been laterally moved by the FA into the Pitching In NPL Premier League for the 2026/27 season. The club intends to appeal the decision.”

But Quorn have since confirmed that their appeal against their lateral movement into the Northern Premier League Premier Division has been dismissed. “The club will not be making a further statement on the matter at this time.”

The Non League Paper have since looked into it, writing: “Frustrated @QuornAFC believe they face a race against time to put together a competitive squad for the coming season after losing their appeal against their lateral move across the Non-League pyramid.”

Quorn have said frarewell to the likes of Jack York, Prince Mancinelli, Drew Lowe, Reece Fyfe, Silvio Bello, Finn O’Boyle, Jack Duffy, Simeon Cobourne, Adam Harrison since the season ended.

@RecoFyfe wrote: “After 4 incredible seasons, the time has come to move on from Quorn AFC. One of the hardest decisions I’ve made, because Quorn has truly felt like my club. Thank you to everyone who made me feel at home from day one. 2 promotions, a County Cup and memories I’ll cherish forever ❤️”

@_SBello6: “To everyone involved at Quorn FC, After four unforgettable years, it’s time for me to say goodbye. Together we achieved two promotions, a league title, and created memories I’ll carry forever. Quorn will always mean a lot to me. Wishing the club nothing but continued success ❤️”

@simcapz1: “Just wanna thank everyone involved with @QuornAFC for the time I’ve had last season ❤️ fully enjoyed my time and some memories was made, All the best for next season 🤝 #LiveQuorn 💥”

Here’s the social media reaction with the non league club facing ‘race against time’ to put together a competitive squad for the 2026/27 season…

@SpezialSSLE4: Fully trust Bezza to bring in quality although imagine his job’s been made VERY difficult considering the budget will likely be made more tight given the increased travel costs

@bunting_kevin: There is another club that is closer to 12 of the opponents they will they play tham them….so I can see why they have appealed and I would think they have bloody good case….. I guess if it geographical its them. If its distances its not them…

Steve Shaw: Getting a bit worried now, in a week or so lost keeper, right back, centre mid, winger and 2 strikers and Drew. Can we get some retained now and new signings please 🙏

Lee Bloxsom: As a fan I’m now concerned by this mass exodus. What is going on!??!

Mark Jones: Would the last player to leave please turn off the lights! 😕

Andrew Hollis: Have we got any players left at QFC?

Nick Collis: Andrew Hollis my boots are clean and ready !

Paul Hutchinson: Is there anyone left ?😎

Adam Johnson: Need to take a look at the Under 23s won the league easily last year a couple of very good players in there in particular Frank Bannister

    Joey BSide:
    Not time to panic yet but it’s either or a combination of;
    1) the extra travelling expenses have tanked the budget.
    2) clubs are offering more than what we can afford.
    3) haven’t performed to their ability for the wage paid.
Either way, trust Bezza to get it right.

Gaz Wisher: What is going on?!?!? At this rate we are going to have Jim having to put a kit on instead of washing them!!

@michael23047737: Rushall got screwed over last season, we had a tough time, appeals don’t count for anything, good luck anyway.

@will_clarke69: Workington away nailed on for a Tuesday night in November now

@TommyDryburgh: Nature of the league that someone gets the short end of the stick but that really is brutal on Quorn… A fantastic season at step 3 last year to be fighting for their lives this year!

@yellows4life: sad to see another club struggling after seeing their appeal denied, life at this level becoming tougher and tougher it seems, really hope it gets sorted out before other teams suffer the same fate or worse, ive lost count of how many teams had to resign, withdraw, demote themselves for 2025/26
