New York Knicks / Schedule
His status for the Knicks in the upcoming NBA Finals is facing huge uncertainty, as it remains unclear when he sustained his finger injury.
Robinson’s sudden inactivity is a gut-wrenching blow for the Knicks, considering that their potential matchups in the championship stage will feature towering and imposing frontcourt presences.
The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder have Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams. Meanwhile, French superstar Victor Wembanyama is anchoring the San Antonio Spurs.
The Thunder currently lead 3-2 heading into Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday.
The longest tenured Knick, Robinson established himself as a highly important backup for star big man Karl-Anthony Towns.
He averaged 5.7 points and 8.8 rebounds across 19.6 minutes in 60 games this past regular season. He ranked fourth in the league in offensive rebounds per game (4.2).
In the 2026 NBA Playoffs, he is tallying 5.3 points and 5.5 rebounds so far in 14.2 minutes, shooting 73.7 percent from the field.
It remains to be seen how the Knicks will adjust to Robinson’s brutal injury absence. Second-year big Ariel Hukporti, who only played eight games this postseason in 8.8 minutes average, may likely earn more playing time.
Game 1 of the NBA Finals will start on Wednesday, June 3. The Knicks will play either in Oklahoma City or San Antonio in the first two games of the series.
