India and Pakistan will begin their Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaigns at Edgbaston on June 14, with history firmly favouring the Women in Blue.

India has won 13 of the 16 T20Is between the two sides, including six of their eight meetings at the T20 World Cup. Pakistan’s most recent victory came in the 2022 Asia Cup, while its last win over India at a T20 World Cup dates back to 2016.

The sides last met at the 2024 T20 World Cup in Dubai, where India secured a comfortable six-wicket victory. Pakistan, after opting to bat, managed only 105/8, with Nida Dar top-scoring with 28. Arundhati Reddy starred with figures of 3/19 and was named Player of the Match, while Shreyanka Patil chipped in with 2/12.

India chased down the target with seven balls to spare, thanks to useful contributions from Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur. Despite the win, India and Pakistan were both eliminated in the group stage as Australia and New Zealand advanced.
