The final spots in WWE’s Money in the Bank ladder matches will be decided next week. Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Johnny Gargano battle for the last spot in the men’s match. On the women’s side, Tiffany Stratton, Tatum Paxley and Candice LeRae will also have one last chance to punch their ticket to New Orleans.
The qualifying picture became clearer on the September 25 episode of SmackDown after CM Punk and Lash Legend secured the latest spots. Punk defeated Gunther and Finn Bálor, while Legend pinned Giulia to advance.
That leaves just two places up for grabs before the October 10 PLE. The final men’s qualifier has plenty of championship history between its three participants, while the women’s match gives Paxley, Stratton and LeRae a chance to enter their first Money in the Bank ladder match this year.

Sami Zayn played a role in getting Gargano into the mix. During a backstage segment, he told Gargano that he personally approached WWE official Nick Aldis. Zayn pushed for Gargano and LeRae to receive qualifying opportunities.
Meanwhile, Giulia’s night took another turn after her loss to Legend. She confronted Blake Monroe backstage and slapped her, leading Aldis to officially set their singles match for next week’s SmackDown.
The October 2 show in Denver will therefore feature three important matches, with the final MITB spots hanging in the balance. The winners will join an already confirmed field that includes Punk, Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams and Penta on the men’s side. Lash Legend, Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Jacy Jayne and Roxanne Perez have qualified for the women’s match.
The Money in the Bank ladder matches will take place on October 10 in New Orleans. Roman Reigns is also scheduled to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight. The final pieces of the briefcase puzzle will be put in place next Friday.
