WWE has announced several matches for the next two episodes of SmackDown. Giulia and Blake Monroe will look to settle their differences, while Nikki Bella will face Chelsea Green for the first time one-on-one.
The October 16 episode of SmackDown featured several developments that shaped the upcoming shows.
WWE SmackDown adds street fight, two matches for Oct. 23
The biggest match announced for the October 23 episode will see Giulia take on Blake Monroe in a Street Fight. SmackDown GM Nick Aldis made the match official after Monroe approached him and demanded action over her ongoing issues with Giulia.
The two women have been feuding for months, with Monroe repeatedly targeting Giulia before making her SmackDown debut three weeks ago. Their first official match ended with Monroe getting the win after sending Giulia into the ring post and knocking her out.
Giulia will now have a chance to get revenge. The Street Fight rules will also allow both women to use weapons and take their fight beyond the usual limits of a regular match.
The October 23 episode will also see Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Michin and B-Fab after the heated confrontation on this week’s SmackDown. This will be Bliss and Paxley’s first title defense since they defeated Fatal Influence to win the championships.
Meanwhile, WWE Tag Team Champions MFT, represented by Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga, will face Bakusai’s Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki in a non-title match.
The announced lineup for October 23 looks like this:
- Street Fight: Giulia vs. Blake Monroe
- WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley (c) vs. Michin and B-Fab
- Non-title tag team match: MFT (Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga) vs. Bakusai (Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki)
Nikki Bella vs. Chelsea Green set for title match on Oct. 30
The October 16 episode also confirmed a match for October 30’s SmackDown.
This week, Chelsea Green approached Nick Aldis to discuss Tiffany Stratton’s Money in the Bank victory, but Nikki Bella interrupted their conversation. Bella took another shot at Green and made it clear that she wanted to become the next WWE Women’s Champion.
Their argument has mostly played out through backstage confrontations and verbal jabs over the past month. Green initially seemed willing to hear Bella out, but Bella’s repeated dismissals have made their relationship increasingly hostile.
After their latest confrontation, Aldis agreed to book a title match between the two women for October 30 at the Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, West Virginia. The match is currently the first one announced for that episode.
