William Hill News tipster @Footy_Tipster previews Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash between Club Brugge and Aston Villa.

Our Prediction: Draw (5/2), Club Brugge 1-1 Aston Villa (11/2)

Club Brugge and Aston Villa kick off their Champions League campaigns on Tuesday, with the Belgian champions in strong domestic form and Villa arriving under pressure after a winless start to their new campaign.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some UEFA Champions League odds and betting angles for Tuesday’s fixture:

Club Brugge v Aston Villa – Tuesday, 5.45pm

View all available markets at William Hill

    • Club Brugge return to the UEFA Champions League for the eighth time in nine seasons, and after group‑stage exits in their first five campaigns following their 2016 return, they’ve now progressed beyond the league phase in each of the last three — a clear sign of their growing European pedigree.
    • This is the fourth meeting between the sides. Brugge won the first at home back in 2024 but lost both legs of their round‑of‑16 tie in 2025, and they’ve managed just one win in their last 17 matches against English opposition in Europe (D3, L13).
    • Even so, the Jan Breydel Stadium remains a difficult place to visit. Brugge have lost only three of their last 22 UEFA home games (W13, D6), and William Hill price the Belgian champions at 13/8 to claim another European scalp.

    • It’s been a miserable start to the season for Unai Emery and Aston Villa. After losing key players in the summer, their early struggles aren’t entirely surprising — and they travel to Belgium still searching for both their first win of the campaign (L2, D1) and their first goal.
    • The reigning UEFA Europa League champions won 13 of 15 European matches last season, and Emery’s record on the continent speaks for itself. But Villa will need a significant improvement, particularly in the final third, if they’re to take anything from this trip.
    • Confidence is low after recent results, yet Villa have won eight of their 12 Champions League games under Emery. A European night might be exactly what they need to spark their season into life, and William Hill make them 29/20 to do just that.
