Former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry has made it clear that becoming a WWE World Champion is his ultimate goal. The popular star believes he can eventually reach the top by improving himself every week.
Hendry has experienced a rapid rise in popularity over the past few years. The former TNA champion made his WWE NXT debut in the summer of 2024. At the time, he was still competing as the reigning TNA World Champion.
Hendry eventually signed a full-time WWE contract in late 2025. He was then moved to the RAW brand, where he began his journey toward becoming a major WWE superstar.
Joe Hendry talks about his plans to become WWE World Champion on the main roster
Speaking on Insights with Chris Van Vliet, Joe Hendry explained that becoming a world champion has always been the ultimate goal for him. He believes that anyone entering professional wrestling should have aspirations of becoming a world champion.
He said, “If you’re not in this business to be the world champion, then you are in the wrong business. That is why we get into this business. To be the world champion has to be the goal. What I do and how I manage that mentally is I have really honest conversations with myself.”
He asks himself whether he is as good as Roman Reigns, CM Punk, or other world champions in specific areas. “I go, ‘Am I as good as Roman in this area? Am I as good as CM Punk in this area? Am I as good as insert world champion?’ The answer is there’s work to be done.”
“There’s a long road ahead of me. But the thing I love about it is it’s like, okay, in order for me to cover this ground and get to where I need to go, I’m going to get 1% better every week. How am I going to do that? Okay, I need to do this; I need to do that.” [H/T: WrestlingInc]
He is currently between major storylines on WWE RAW. He has recently appeared in musical segments targeting JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio. While Hendry has not yet reached the WWE main-event scene, his ambitions are clear.
