Tyson Fury hints at August fight in Dublin

Tyson Fury has hinted that he plans to fight again in Dublin on 1 August in a post on social media.

The two-time heavyweight champion of the world posted the caption “Let’s go August 1, Dublin, Ireland” alongside a video of him training in Thailand.

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren is staging a fight night in the capital of the Republic of Ireland on that date, with the light-welterweight IBO title fight between Pierce O’Leary and Mark Chamberlain set for the city’s 3Arena.

Official confirmation of the 37-year-old’s involvement on the card has yet to be announced.

An August fight could serve as a warm-up for the much-anticipated meeting between Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Joshua, 36, returns to action on 26 July against unknown Albanian Kristian Prenga for the first time since being involved in a car crash that killed two of his friends in Nigeria in December.

The meeting between the two former world champions is set to happen in 2026, with Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn announcing in April that the London 2012 Olympic gold medallist had signed to fight Fury.

That announcement came after Fury had made his return from a 15-month retirement with a points win over Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

After that victory, Fury immediately called out Joshua, who was ringside, and the pair exchanged words with the Morecambe fighter attempting to goad his rival into the ring.
