Bonjour Diva Dirt! AEW Grand Slam: France Dynamite is brought to you from the Adidas Arena in Paris, and we kick off Night 1 with the AEW Women’s World Championship on the line.
Queen Aminata is set to challenge Mercedes Moné for the world championship tonight. But first, she has a message for all the French AEW fans as she gets her very first shot at the title.
Big D Moné is currently healing from a broken nose. But, she’s determined not to lose her title so easily, especially against some chocolate kisses à la Aminata.
The crowd is hot for Aminata, and unfortunately for “The CEO,” she eats a plentiful amount of chocolate kisses because it is Paris after all. Moné is not one to play around with her title and catches Aminata’s leg on the middle rope. The world champ hits a meteora to the outside as she takes over the match.
Aminata fights through with a sharp headbutt. Moné tries to fight back and looks to hit the Three Amigos until Aminata counters. The backstabber from Moné connects and hits a sunset flip powerbomb into the corner. Aminata stays clear of a corner meteora, and after a deep face wash, she stomps on The CEO to only get a two count.
Moné tries to find the Moné Maker, but Aminata hits a German suplex and sends Moné to the floor. “The CEO” tries to escape and props Aminata on a chair. Aminata gets out of dodge, and Moné’s face gets driven straight into the chair. Unfortunately for Moné’s face, again, she eats a dropkick to send her dazed.
Aminata makes it to the top rope, but whiffs at the foot stomp. Moné finds an opening and hits a lungeblower. She follows up with a Moné Maker and remains your AEW Women’s World Champion.
“The Toxic Spider” Thekla is ready to square up with “The CEO,” after getting attacked last week. Thekla is determined to win back her title. And, she sends a rather big message to Moné before they face off for the title at WrestleDream.
What did you think of tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Paris? Can Thekla reclaim her throne come WrestleDream? Let us know in the comments below!
