Sami Zayn is still the Undisputed WWE Champion, but the way he retained his title against Trick Williams on the October 30, 2026 episode of SmackDown is definitely going to get people talking. Zayn used a low blow and a championship belt shot to put Williams away in the show’s main event, showing just how far he’s willing to go to keep his title.

The championship match took place under No Disqualification rules, meaning both competitors had the freedom to use weapons without worrying about getting disqualified. Lil Yachty wasted little time getting involved, handing Trick Williams a kendo stick that he immediately used to attack Zayn and score an early near fall.

The fight eventually spilled into the crowd, where Zayn unloaded with punches before both men made their way back toward the ring. Williams grabbed the kendo stick again, but Zayn managed to turn things around and deliver several shots of his own.

Williams eventually avoided another swing and connected with a jumping neckbreaker. He followed up with more kendo stick shots and a cyclone kick, but Zayn managed to kick out. Things got even more physical when Williams brought steel chairs into the ring and attempted to deliver a uranage onto them. Zayn countered the move with a Blue Thunder Bomb, nearly putting Williams away.

The championship belt then became the center of attention. Zayn initially grabbed the title and attempted to strike Williams, but missed. Williams responded with a jumping knee that earned another close two-count.

With the championship within reach, Williams grabbed the belt himself and waited for Zayn to get back to his feet. However, the closing moments took a bizarre turn when Williams pushed the referee into the action. Zayn shoved the official away and delivered a low blow to Williams while the referee wasn’t looking. Despite the match already being contested under No Disqualification rules, Zayn still made sure the official didn’t see what happened.

Zayn then blasted Williams with the championship belt and covered him for the three-count, successfully retaining the Undisputed WWE Championship. The victory means Zayn leaves SmackDown with his championship intact, but his actions once again raise questions about the lengths he’s willing to go to remain on top. With Roman Reigns already questioning whether Zayn could make it to Crown Jewel as champion, the titleholder has managed to survive another major challenge, even if his methods weren’t exactly honorable.

The October 30 episode of SmackDown went off the air immediately after Zayn’s victory, leaving fans with another controversial championship finish heading into Crown Jewel.

What do you think about Sami Zayn using a low blow and championship belt shot to defeat Trick Williams? Is WWE turning Zayn into a completely different kind of champion, or was he simply doing whatever it took to win? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
