SummerSlam night one is in the books for the Divas.
First, to kick off the show, Liv Morgan finally defended the Women’s World Title since winning it at WrestleMania. She defeated IYO SKY who earned this match by becoming Queen of the Ring.
The final moments of the match had SKY land double knees onto Morgan on the ring post. Hurting her knee in the process, SKY goes up top for an Over the Moonsault but Morgan gets her knees up. One ObLIVion by Morgan lands SKY on her feet, but Morgan lands a Codebreaker and a second ObLIVion to get the win and retain.
Despite Roxanne Perez and the Women’s IC Champion Raquel Rodriguez at ringside, they did not interfere in the result of the match. SKY took them out earlier on the outside.
Fatal Influence had the Divas (The Bella Twins and Paige) numbers later in the show. The final moments of the match had Jacy Jayne hit Paige with the rolling encore and get the pin for the victory.
Brie Bella possibly hurt her shoulder in the match, will provide update if it is the case.
After the loss, The Bellas joined Paige in the ring as Nikki Bella turned first on Paige with a forearm, Brie joined in with some stomps. Nikki hit Rack Attack 2.0 before The Bellas left the ring leaving Paige a mess.
Mickie James was in attendance for her husband Nick Aldis’ first WWE match against Gunther. Gunther won, but he taunted James and their son at ringside.
