Prograis was asked for his thoughts on a possible Garcia-Benn matchup.

“I think it’s a great fight and I pick Conor Benn. I think Ryan Garcia is a better boxer, but if they get to a fight, which might happen, I will pick Conor Benn,” said Prograis to Fighthype.”

Prograis pointed to Benn’s style as a major factor in his prediction.

“He’s a raw fighter. He wants to get at you.”

Ryan’s future has been the subject of speculation since his loss to Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, while Benn has continued to push for major fights after rebuilding his position with wins over Prograis and other notable opponents.

Prograis also suggested that Conor could be more effective at a higher weight if the fight takes place.

“At 154. I think at 154,” said Prograis.

The retired former champion added that Ryan’s offense can sometimes be easier to anticipate than that of many opponents.

“I saw everything coming. That’s the only thing. You can see it coming.”

A fight between Ryan and Conor has been discussed repeatedly over the past year, though no agreement has been announced. If negotiations eventually lead to a deal, Prograis believes Benn’s aggression and willingness to force the action could be enough to overcome Garcia’s technical advantages.
