Pakistan all-rounder Nida Dar has made herself available for selection to the national team after a year-long gap from cricket.

Dar, who had taken an indefinite break in April 2025 citing personal reasons, announced the decision on Thursday in a post on X.

“After taking time to focus on myself and regain my strength, I am happy to share that I am back and available for Pakistan Cricket Team once again. Ready to give my best, work hard and contribute whenever the team needs me. Thank you to everyone who supported me during this journey,” she said in the post.

The former Pakistan captain, who is now 39-years-old, last played a game for Pakistan in October 2024 in the side’s 54-run defeat against New Zealand in the T20 World Cup.

Following Pakistan’s group stage exit in that tournament, Dar was dropped from the central contract list and did not play a match for her country before she subsequently decided to temporarily walk away from the sport.

Regardless of whether she stands any real chance of making a comeback to the team, Dar remains one of Pakistan’s most accomplished cricketers.

Dar is the first cricketer, male or female to take 100 T20 international wickets and is also the second highest-run scorer for her country in T20Is with 2091 runs only behind Bismah Mahroof.
