WWE‘s Paige opens up about her time in All Elite Wrestling.
Paige recently sat down for a chat with the Bella Twins on the Nikki and Brie Show at Fatatics Fest alongside AJ Lee. During the conversation, she opened up about her time in AEW between 2022 and 2025. She noted that while she enjoyed her time with the promotion, her heart wasn’t in it, and that she was always a WWE girl.
“Well, I did go to AEW and you guys, I did have a great time there, but my heart wasn’t in it. I feel like you could see that in my performance when I was in the ring there and my character, and it was just like, ‘I’m a WWE girl, man.’ I love WWE. So, yeah, I went there for a couple of years, and we went our separate ways, and it ended really, really great,” Paige said.
“I have nothing but love when it comes to AEW and Tony (Khan). But yeah, when it comes to WWE, that’s just where I’ve wanted to be forever. I’ve been there since I was 18 years old. I gave my neck for this company. I grew up here, you guys,” Paige continued.
Paige said she didn’t have much time to prepare for her WWE return
Speaking further, Paige revealed that she didn’t have enough time to prepare for her WWE return at WrestleMania 42. However, she had a rehearsal before the event and went on to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Brie Bella after coming in as a replacement for an injured Nikki Bella.
“Then, when it comes to getting the call, I was so excited, but I didn’t have any preparation time for the match at all. My manager said he was like, ‘Oh, we got stuff Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and then we have Mania on Saturday.’ I didn’t have any time to get in the ring, and then we did have rehearsals, but I was just coming in at the end of the match. So I was like, ‘Well, thank gosh, I don’t have to do too much.’ But then obviously we end up winning the tag team championships,” Paige said.
Paige and Brie Bella had a 91-day run with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship before losing it to Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18.
