“No intention” – Chelsea decision currently killing transfer deal

Chelsea are putting themselves in a position where they need to sell Malo Gusto – but are pricing themselves out of a deal.

Marco Palestra is almost confirmed as a new Chelsea signing. He’s a right wing back, playing in the same position as Reece James. That has meant most people assuming that Malo Gusto is on his way out as a spare part, and that’s been backed up by rumours that Man City and Juventus are sniffing around him.

When we heard reports yesterday that Chelsea were asking for £75m for Gusto, we said right away that nobody would pay that. And that’s been confirmed today by TeamTalk.

They say that City have “no intention of entering a bidding process at Chelsea’s current asking price.”

If they don’t, you can be sure that Juventus don’t either.

A deal is not dead yet, however. Realistically we can imagine Chelsea accepting €50m plus some bonuses, and City may yet be persuaded that that is worth it. They want him, we probably want to sell him, and he will surely be happy to take the move. Even at €50m we make a nice profit – it’s just a question of negotiation.

    In other news…

Former Chelsea goalkeeping coach Cristophe Lollichon has been speaking about the Blues’ incoming young talent in goal Mike Penders.

Chelsea are apparently “obsessed” with one Premier League star they’ve wanted for a while, but we’re not sure he’s worth the monster asking price.
