Brie Bella’s SummerSlam injury may have changed more than just her own WWE plans. It sounds like Nikki Bella is now reconsidering hers too.
While fans have been wondering what’s next after Brie suffered a broken shoulder at SummerSlam, Nikki admitted she’s not interested in continuing this comeback if it means doing it without her sister.
The emotional moment came during Brie Bella’s latest vlog as Brie talked about beginning her recovery and waiting to find out whether she’ll need surgery.
“But I guess, like you, Nikki, the recovery starts today. The doctors are waiting. We don’t know if I’m going to have surgery or not. So, I should find out tomorrow.”
Listening to her sister talk about the uncertainty ahead was enough for Nikki to admit what had already been on her mind. She doesn’t want another solo run.
“I don’t want to do it alone. A part of me feels like I need to stay back with you and wait for us to come back in together. It’s already been a one and done. I don’t want to do this again without you.”
It’s a very different conversation from the one fans were having immediately after SummerSlam. At the time, the focus was entirely on Brie gutting through the match despite breaking her shoulder, refusing to let WWE stop the bout because she wanted Nikki to get her planned hot tag. Now the attention has shifted to what happens next—and Nikki has made it clear she’d rather put the brakes on her own return than move forward without Brie.
Whether that ends up happening will depend on Brie’s recovery. She’s still waiting to learn if surgery will be required, meaning there’s no timetable for when she might be cleared to wrestle again.
For now, though, Nikki doesn’t sound like someone eager to continue chasing one last WWE run by herself. After everything the Bella Twins have accomplished together, she’d rather wait until they can walk back through that curtain side by side.
Do you think Nikki Bella should wait for Brie, or would you like to see her continue her WWE run as a singles competitor? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
