Michigan State football is reportedly one of the top schools for a new priority linebacker target in the 2027 class.

Greg Smith of Rivals connected with three-star linebacker Matthew Brady of Bloomington, Ill., where he provided insight on his top schools at the moment. For Brady, there are four schools that are standing out as his top schools: Michigan State, Nebraska, Minnesota and Illinois.

Brady is listed as a three-star prospect with a recruiting rating of 85 in 247Sports system. He ranks as the No. 120 linebacker and No. 45 player from Illinois in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2027 class.

Brady’s recruitment has started to take off in the last few months, with Michigan State joining the mix in April with their offer to him. He has also picked up offers Minnesota, Illinois, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Northwestern since the start of April, showing he has quickly emerged as a power four priority target.

Michigan State is the first of his top four schools to have Brady on-campus, as he’ll be taking an official visit this upcoming weekend. After that he’ll visit Nebraska, Minnesota and Illinois in consecutive weekends. By the end of June, we should have a good idea of where Brady is leaning and if the Spartans can come out winners in this recruiting battle.
