Manchester City are now the favourites with William Hill News to sign Adam Wharton before the transfer window closes.

City’s new odds of 3/1 mean they have overtaken Chelsea at the top of the betting, as the Premier League’s leading clubs circle the Crystal Palace midfielder.

The Blues are next in line at 4/1, followed closely by Liverpool at 9/2. Manchester United are 12/1, while Real Madrid are 20/1 outsiders to secure Wharton’s signature before deadline day.

City have made enquiries to Crystal Palace over a potential move for Wharton, although the Eagles are reported to regard the 22-year-old as not for sale this summer.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Adam Wharton has become one of the most intriguing names in the final stretch of the window and Manchester City are now the team our market is pointing towards at 3/1.

“Chelsea are not far behind at 4/1, while Liverpool hold odds of 9/2, meaning this is far from a one-horse race, but City are now the favourites to make the decisive move.

“Manchester United have long been linked with the Englishman and are still in with a shout at 12/1, followed by Spanish giants Real Madrid at 20/1.”

Adam Wharton – To Sign Before 2nd September 2026:

    – Manchester City – 3/1

    – Chelsea – 4/1

    – Liverpool – 9/2

    – Manchester United – 12/1

    – Real Madrid – 20/1

    – BAR – 33/1
