Salford City

- Current placing: 22nd
The Ammies were highly tipped before a ball was kicked and still feature high in League Two odds. It is because they were beaten 2025/26 Play-Off finalists in this division and further bolstered their playing ranks throughout the summer months.
Nevertheless, Salford lost both EFL games so far with merely one goal scored. Therefore not a good introduction for new boss Peter Cklamovski who was appointed on 18th June to replace Karl Robinson.
Even so, I think results will pick up for him. Meanwhile, the former Manchester United and Rochdale goalkeeper Tom Myles penned a one year contract on Tuesday.

York City

Clubs promoted to League Two normally do well and York City are no exception yielding an unbeaten display to date. The Minstermen won National League title honours last season and are simply loving their return to EFL membership after a 10 year absence.
Wednesday’s news saw Stevenage striker Jovan Malcolm join on loan until January.

Bristol Rovers
- Promotion odds: 6/4
- Points tally after two games: 3
- Current placing: 10th
Lively entertainment delivering 13 goals scored for and against in their opening two matches rendering one defeat and one victory. I’m mindful that Bristol Rovers were 23rd on the back of 10 straight League losses when Steve Evans was installed in the managerial hot seat just before Christmas.
However, Evans oversaw an eventual climb up to 14th spot and I firmly believe Rovers will be in contention at the business end of this season.
