The Federación Española de Rugby (FER) has renewed its technical kit partnership with Spanish sportswear brand Joma, extending a relationship that covers all national teams—from senior men’s and women’s sides to youth squads.
Announced on May 28, the multi-year agreement keeps Joma in place as the federation’s official technical sponsor. The brand will continue to supply match, training, and leisure apparel across all age groups.
This latest renewal builds on a partnership that began in 2016, when Joma replaced Irish supplier O’Neills, and was first extended in 2019. The new term marks a third consecutive cycle—an uncommon stretch of continuity in a category typically subject to frequent retendering.
The agreement comes as Spanish rugby pushes for greater international visibility. FER has formally entered the race to host the 2035 Men’s Rugby World Cup, presenting its candidacy in 2026 and engaging both World Rugby and domestic stakeholders. Plans include the use of major football venues, with ongoing discussions involving LaLiga over stadium access and alignment.
Spain has also hosted key events as part of that positioning. Madrid staged the Rugby Europe Championship 2026 final in March, while the country is included in the current World Rugby Sevens circuit calendar.]
For Joma, the extension adds to a broad expansion across team sports. In football, the brand recently secured a deal to supply Real Sociedad from the 2026–27 season and will outfit Premier League side Brentford from 2025–26. Its club portfolio also includes Villarreal, Getafe, and Leganés in Spain; Atalanta, Torino, and Hellas Verona in Italy; Hoffenheim in Germany; Anderlecht in Belgium; and Le Havre in France.
Beyond clubs, Joma supplies national teams such as Romania, Cuba, and Honduras, and has expanded into athletics through a European Athletics partnership running from 2025 to 2028.
Separately, FER has renewed its domestic media rights deal with Movistar+, covering the men’s División de Honor, women’s Liga Iberdrola, and Copa del Rey through the 2027–28 season.
