The WWE World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament is down to its final two. During the August 24, 2026 episode of WWE RAW, Rey Fenix and Penta both punched their tickets to the tournament final, setting up a huge showdown between the two masked stars.
Fenix was the first man to advance after facing Dragon Lee in the opening semifinal match. The two went back and forth with everything from superkicks and dives to a Styles Clash from Lee, but Fenix eventually caught him with a step-up enziguiri followed by a Mexican Muscle Buster to score the victory.
Later in the night, Penta faced AAA’s La Parka in the other semifinal. La Parka pushed Penta deep into the match and even connected with a Spanish Fly from the top rope, but Penta survived. He then broke La Parka’s arm before hitting a Mexican Destroyer off the ropes to get the three-count and advance. With that, the final was officially set: Penta vs. Rey Fenix.
The two didn’t waste any time acknowledging what was coming either. After Penta’s victory, Rey Fenix came out and the two had a face-to-face staredown with the World Heavyweight Championship imagery behind them, giving fans their first look at the tournament final matchup.
Now Penta and Fenix will have to put everything else aside with a shot at becoming the next #1 contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship hanging in the balance.
Who do you think should win the tournament final between Penta and Rey Fenix? Let us know in the comments.
