Ludwig Kaiser’s legal situation has taken another step forward after prosecutors handed over digital evidence to his defense team as his misdemeanor battery case continues through the Florida court system.

Ringside News obtained a new court filing dated June 1 that confirms the State of Florida provided Kaiser’s attorney with access to digital evidence connected to the case. The filing states that prosecutors sent defense attorney Thomas Sommerville an electronic link containing evidence and noted that access would remain available for 90 days. The court filing states:

“The State emailed the defendant a link that grants access to tom@sommervillelaw.com items of digital evidence on 06/01/2026. The link in the email will expire within 90 days.”

Prosecutors also made it clear that some of the material may contain additional location-based information that might not immediately appear when reviewing downloaded files. The filing further states:

“Please note that some videos may contain geolocating information that may not be visible in the downloaded videos.”

The latest development comes as Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, continues fighting a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from an alleged incident at his Orlando apartment complex earlier this year. He previously entered a not guilty plea and remains free on bond.

As Ringside News previously reported, Kaiser is scheduled to return to court on July 16 for a pre-trial conference. Court records have also identified a possible trial period running from August 10 through August 28 if the case is not resolved before then.

The legal proceedings have not impacted Kaiser’s WWE status. He remains an active part of WWE programming and is expected to continue fulfilling his scheduled appearances. With the defense now reviewing the digital evidence and a July court appearance approaching, attention will turn to whether both sides can reach a resolution or if the case ultimately heads to trial later this summer.

Do you think WWE should continue featuring Ludwig Kaiser on television while his legal case remains active, or should the company take a different approach? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback in the comments below.
