England’s Sacha Hickey, Patris Mughalzai and Dimeji Shittu will all fight for Commonwealth gold after a successful morning session in Friday’s boxing semi-finals in Glasgow.

Hickey overcame Australia’s Eve Bryson 5-0 in the women’s 65kg category and will take on Northern Ireland’s Kaci Rock in Saturday’s final.

Mughalzai will fight Australian Jacob Cassar for gold in the men’s 65kg after powering past Zambia’s Emmanuel Katema for a 4-1 win in his semi-final.

And Shittu enjoyed a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Australia’s Paul Trainor to set up a final bout against India’s Ankush Ankush.

Meanwhile, England’s Lauren Mackie had to settle for bronze after losing her semi-final in the women’s 54kg category 4-1 to Canada’s Scarlett Delgado.

The boxing semi-finals continue with an afternoon session from 14:30 BST and evening session at 19:00, with a further 15 fighters from the home nations competing.
