Chelsea Green dedicated her WWE SummerSlam victory to Michael Hayes, who didn’t view her as a top star.
Chelsea Green won the first world title of her WWE career when she became the Interim Women’s Champion on Night Two of SummerSlam. She defeated Tiffany Stratton, Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, and Lash Legend in a massive five-woman ladder match for the win.
Following the event, Chelsea Green appeared on the SummerSlam post-show to address her big victory. Green admitted that she went into the match as the underdog, going against an ex-WNBA player (Lash Legend), an ex-gymnast (Tiffany Stratton), Jade Cargill, who was “born with abs,” and Charlotte Flair, who was born into the business. However, she noted that she did what she wanted to do and walked out as the Interim WWE Women’s Champion.
Green then said she’d like to dedicate her victory to WWE Senior Producer and Vice President of Creative Writing & Booking, Michael Hayes. Hayes previously shared his opinion on Chelsea Green on Netflix’s WWE Unreal, saying she wasn’t meant to be a top star. He noted that she’s in the company only to make main eventers like Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton look good.
Though he apologized after the backlash, Chelsea Green ultimately got the last word with her cheeky dedication after her big win.
