Rangers expect to agree personal terms to sign star as Blackburn green-light sale

Rangers have received an instant boost in their pursuit of a rapid defender this summer, with Blackburn Rovers ready to give the go ahead at the right price.

Rangers racing to sign Tavernier replacement

The first order of business for the Gers was welcoming Lawrence Shankland and dealing Hearts a major blow. The forward is set to provide Danny Rohl with a major boost and perhaps hand Rangers the edge that he very nearly handed his former side last season.

The Scot could be the first of many to come through the door at Ibrox this summer, and it seems as though the next priority is to find a replacement for James Tavernier.

The captain bowed out after an excellent 11-year spell in Scotland and whilst a spat with Rohl very nearly soured his farewell, not many will be forgetting his time at the club anytime soon.

How Rangers replace the veteran defender is the big question. And although Bryan Reynolds is the name threatening to steal the headlines amid an offer from Ibrox, it could be an EFL speed demon who arrives instead this summer.

Rangers preparing offer to sign EFL star

As reported by SportsBoom, Rangers are now preparing an offer to sign Ryan Alebiosu this summer and Blackburn Rovers are ready to green-light a move worth around £5m.

It’s a major boost for the Gers, who are not expecting any issues when it comes to agreeing personal terms with the right-back.

Blackburn’s £5m asking price should be no problem for the 49ers, either, which could see Rangers accelerate towards a deal.

Alebiosu has plenty of impressive traits, but none standout more than his speed. The 24-year-old clocked a speed of 37 Km/h last season, which makes him one of the quickest players in Europe.

    37.88 Km/h

    Achraf Hakimi (PSG)

    Ryan Alebiosu (Blackburn)

    37 Km/h

    Erling Haaland (Man City)

    36.9 Km/h

    Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid)

    36.7 Km/h

Alebiosu keeps quite the company on the track, and could be about to secure a big move to Scotland to match. Whether Rangers match Blackburn’s asking price remains to be seen, however.
