A BUOYANT cluster of six teams remain undefeated heading into another weekend of eagerly awaited EFL League Two combat and William Hill News preview the action this Saturday.

By contrast, just one club are yet to register a win. So our League Two betting odds are shaping up very nicely.

Best Bets In League Two This Weekend:

    • Barnet to score in both halves (13/10)
    • Grimsby and Bristol Rovers to draw (12/5)
    • Gillingham to win & both teams to score (4/1)

Here is my considered analysis of the upcoming fixtures I am looking forward to most thereby assisting your football betting…

    Grimsby Town v Bristol Rovers

    • Kick-off: 12.30pm
    • Rankings: 11th versus 1st

Grimsby Town preview – Undefeated so far but the last four games resulted in draws culminating in three successive identical 2-2 outcomes. Grimsby’s sole maximum pointer was 1-0 against visitors Exeter City on the opening day.

Bristol Rovers preview – Enjoying a two point buffer. Rovers lost their initial EFL game 3-2 at York City before amassing four straight wins.

    Score prediction: Jittery 1-1.

    York City v Swindon Town

    • Kick-off: 3pm
    • Rankings: 9th versus 2nd

York City preview – One point outside Play-off contention despite just one victory amid four outings. However still a good showing after promotion from the Enterprise National League.

Swindon Town preview – Two consecutive wins take Ian Holloway’s men to within two points of top spot. Prolific marksman Aaron Drinan is League Two’s foremost goalscoring notching five times in his past four appearances.

This includes a glittering Drinan hat-trick during last Saturday’s 3-1 home triumph against Colchester United.

    Score prediction: Crazy 4-4.

    Barnet v Accrington Stanley

    • Kick-off: 3pm
    • Rankings: 3rd versus 19th

Barnet preview – No losses although the last three encounters were draws featuring varying scorelines (2-2, 1-1 and 3-3 respectively) leaving the Bees three points under first place.

Accrington Stanley preview – Two points clear of the dreaded drop zone. Last Saturday’s most welcome 3-2 home eclipse of Crawley Town was Stanley’s first EFL win of 2026/27.

    Score prediction: Bees buzzing 5-0.

    Gillingham v Tranmere Rovers

    • Kick-off: 3pm
    • Rankings: 13th versus 4th

Gillingham preview – Four ongoing games unconquered. I loved the exquisite solo goal scored by Gillingham’s James Brophy in a 4-1 success away to Rochdale last Saturday.

Dribbling from the halfway line left hand side, Brophy majestically danced diagonally past four defenders to slot home at close range. It instantly reminded me of the famous John Barnes strike for England against Brazil in 1984.

Tranmere Rovers preview – Outside the automatic promotion rungs on goal difference following an unbeaten commencement.

    Score prediction: Gills gyrating 4-3.

    Walsall v Rochdale

    • Kick-off: 3pm
    • Rankings: 5th versus 22nd

Walsall preview – Joint third where two draws on the spin keep the Saddlers’ unbeaten record going.

Rochdale preview – Dale have disappointed me beyond promotion via the Enterprise National League Play-Offs losing four out of five EFL games played to date.

Their solitary win was 3-0 at home to Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday 1st September. Significantly, Rochdale’s board of directors gave head coach Ian Watson a public vote of confidence on Wednesday afternoon.

    Score prediction: Dire 0-0.

Rest of the weekend’s EFL League Two score predictions:

    • Crawley Town v Cheltenham Town: 2-4
    • Colchester United v Crewe Alexandra: 0-0
    • Newport County v Fleetwood Town: 0-1
    • Oldham Athletic v Chesterfield: 3-2
    • Port Vale v Exeter City: 1-2
    • Rotherham United v Salford City: 1-1
    • Shrewsbury Town v Northampton Town: 0-3
