Former WWE Superstar Zoey Stark is coming for everything she wants.
Zoey Stark was among the many superstars WWE released as part of its post-WrestleMania 42 talent cuts on April 24. July 23 marked the end of their mandatory 90-day non-compete period, and Stark, alongside Alesiter Black, Zelina Vega, the Motor City Machine Guns, Kairi Sane, Santos Escobar, and the Wyatt Sicks, has officially become a free agent.
Zoey Stark’s release came after she recovered from a serious knee injury she sustained during a match in May 2025, which caused tears to her ACL, MCL, and meniscus. It came as a shock to the fans, as reports noted that WWE was still high on Stark and planned to bring her back as a babyface.
Now that she’s a free agent, Zoey Stark took to X/Twitter to post a video with the message, “This season, I am unapologetically coming after everything I want. It’s f*cking showtime.”
Following her release, Stark revealed her new ring name, Zoey Serrano, along with the nickname “The Purist” in a training montage video she posted back in May. She then followed it up by revealing her new theme song for her post-WWE career earlier this month.
Bully Ray slammed WWE for releasing Zoey Stark
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray questioned WWE’s decision to release Zoey Stark, especially without giving her a return match after she recovered from the knee injury.
“Think about what she’s going through right now,” he said, highlighting the emotional toll of Stark’s situation. “I tried for a whole year to come back only to have you tell me you’re not even going to give me an opportunity… Not even one match back. To me, that’s not right. Give her one match back… give her an opportunity after she rehabbed herself.”
