T20 World Cup champions India are enduring a nightmarish four-match winless streak and are 2-0 down in the five match series against England heading into the fourth T20I at Bristol on Thursday.
Shreyas Iyer, who was handed the reins of captaincy following the T20 World Cup, is yet to win a match as captain.
The dry run began with a shocking 0-2 series defeat against Ireland in June, followed by a disastrous 125-run loss against England in the second T20I, India’s heaviest defeat in terms of runs in the shortest format.
Should India lose again against England on Sunday night, it will be the first time that India has lost consecutive T20I series in this decade.
The last time the Men in Blue lost back-to-back series on the line was in 2019, when the Virat Kohli-led Indian team lost 1-2 to New Zealand immediately followed by 0-2 whitewash at home against India.
With the series against England and the reputation of the team on the line, Shreyas Iyer and co will be looking to snap its losing streak and finally get a much-needed win on the board.
