WWE’s new Trick Williams merchandise has sparked criticism. Fans have questioned the design of his latest shirt. The new merchandise is based around Williams’ catchphrase, “Lemon Pepper Steppers.”
The new t-shirt features Williams’ signature white wrestling boot. The boot is surrounded by several fried chicken wings. The phrase is also prominently displayed on the back. The boot and wings graphic appears across the front.
While the concept seemingly references lemon pepper wings, fans noticed something different. Many felt the design carried uncomfortable racial undertones.

The shirt quickly became a talking point online. WWE fans criticized the merchandise across X, formerly known as Twitter. Several fans described the design as insensitive and disappointing. Others questioned how the merchandise was approved.
Some fans also claimed the design felt intentional. They suggested WWE’s merchandise team wanted to create controversy. One fan wrote, “Aye @WWEShop what is this????” Another fan wrote, “That Trick Williams shirt is crazy. How did it make it past literally anyone.”
A different fan questioned WWE Shop directly. “.@WWEShop what we doing man??” The criticism continued with another fan writing, “This is hideous.” One fan went even further with their criticism. “you guys need to fire the whole creative team & throw them under the jail actually”
Another fan called the design atrocious. “That’s shit is atrocious.” Another simply wrote, “Terrible shirt…” Fans continued questioning the merchandise online. One wrote, “What the hell is even that” Another fan questioned who approved the design. “Who said okay to this ???”
