Drew McIntyre has reportedly been cast in an upcoming Russell Crowe film.

According to Deadline, the former Undisputed WWE Champion has landed a role in the action film The Last Druid alongside Stacy Clausen (Leviticus), Pablo Derqui (Julia’s Eyes), and Crowe’s son, Tennyson Crowe.

Filming is already underway in Spain, with Crowe reportedly set to portray a peaceful Celtic elder who is forced to take up arms to protect his family and people from the Roman Empire.

William Eubank (Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin) is directing from a script written by Eubank, Phil Gawthorne (Modern Life Is Rubbish), and Carlyle Eubank (Muzzle).

It is worth noting that McIntyre recently wrapped filming on MGM’s big-budget Highlander reboot, which also stars Crowe and Henry Cavill. His WWE absence in recent months was largely tied to his commitments to filming the project. McIntyre previously appeared in The Killer’s Game, which featured Dave Bautista in a leading role.

The Scottish Warrior has not appeared on WWE programming since WrestleMania 42, where he lost to Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match. However, his advertised return for the upcoming episode of SmackDown in Kansas City on June 19 strongly suggests that his absence is nearing its end, aligning with reports that he is expected to be back in time for SummerSlam 2026, which emanates from Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 1 and 2.
