William Hill News tipster @Footy_Tipster previews Friday’s 2026 World Cup game between USA and Australia.

Our Prediction: Both Teams To Score & USA To Win (5/2), USA 2-1 Australia (6/1).

Two sides looking for back-to-back World Cup victories will go head-to-head on Friday as hosts USA take on Australia in Seattle, with both sides looking to top Group D.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some World Cup odds and betting angles for Friday’s fixture:

    USA v Australia – Friday, 8pm

View all available markets at William Hill.

    • USA got their 2026 World Cup campaign off to the perfect start with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Paraguay, equalling their biggest winning margin at the tournament since a pair of 3-0 wins back in 1930 — an ideal opening for the Stars and Stripes.
    • Mauricio Pochettino’s side now head to Seattle, where they have won each of their last seven matches in all competitions. The USA have also won their last two meetings with Australia, the most recent coming just eight months ago, adding further confidence ahead of this clash.
    • This fixture promises entertainment. Seven of the USA’s last eight games have produced at least three goals, while both teams have scored in eight of their last nine. The USMNT are odds‑on at 4/7 with William Hill to make it two wins from two.

    • Australia entered their opening match as underdogs against a well‑fancied Turkey side, but the Socceroos stunned many with an impressive 2-0 victory — their first World Cup opening game win since 2006.
    • A second straight triumph on Friday would all but secure their place in the round of 32, and Australia will be aiming to reach the knockout stages in consecutive World Cup campaigns after making the last 16 in 2022.
    • Defensive organisation has been a real strength: Australia have kept a clean sheet in six of their last nine victories, underlining their discipline without the ball. Tony Popovic’s side are 4/1 with William Hill to upset the hosts and take all three points.

    Bet Builder Hub:

    • Total Goals – Over 2.5 – Seven of the USA’s last eight games have all seen at least three goals.
    • Team with most Corners – USA – The USA have have the most corners in three of their last five games, whilst they should be on the front foot here.
    • Result – USA To Win – USMNT got off to a flyer, they’ve also won both of their last two meetings against Australia.
    • Player To Score – Folarin Balogun – Balogun has scored three goals in his last three games for the USA.

    2. If the bet wins, an Acca Boost will be added to your bet returns.
    3. The % of your win back as an Acca Boost will be determined by the number of selections in your Qualifying Acca (see full terms for breakdown of Acca Boost available).

    Significant Conditions

      12. 15 selections or above – 100% Acca Boost
    8. The increasing percentage of rewards in the Acca Boost reflects the relative risk of placing Qualifying Accas with a higher number of selections.
