The World Cup is about to start, and we’re all getting excited. In the Evening Standard today it was pointed out that a couple of Chelsea players who haven’t been selected for England will get a rest.
Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer get unique chance to recover

It gives both Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill the chance to recover after two very different seasons. Colwill missed almost the whole campaign with an ACL issue, and while he did close the season with a run of games, they didn’t come soon enough to get him into Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
Meanwhile Palmer missed some time due to injury, but generally spend the whole season looking tired and burned out mentally. Let’s hope a break for both does them good.
But we don’t want to celebrate too much – let’s not forget that perhaps our best (and most vulnerable) English player is going to the World Cup. That sort of intense, short form tournament is not one James is built for.
Please Thomas, send him back in one piece.
In other news…
Shim Mheuka had an exceptional year, and is ready to go to the next level with a senior loan next season – but where should we send him?
Jarrod Bowen would be a very tempting target for Chelsea, but West Ham are insisting they’re not interested in selling him.
