Thomas Tuchel has misused Reece James at the World Cup and now has paid the price, with the full back picking up an injury.

We haven’t even reached the third game of England’s World Cup and we’ve already got a Reece James injury on our hands.
He played 90 minutes against Croatia in the first game last week, then 90 minutes against Ghana on Tuesday. We were already worried at that point, and with good reason. The hamstring issue he picked up is more severe at the end of that game was more severe than had initially been thought, and now there’s a major risk he doesn’t return until deep into the knockout rounds – if at all.
Tuchel fails to take lessons from Chelsea’s medical team
We love Thomas Tuchel – he’s one of our favourite Chelsea managers ever. But he clearly just hasn’t been paying attention to James’ path over the last couple of years. It’s very simple – he can play one game a week comfortably. Anything more than that and you risk injury.
It was completely unnecessary to give him 180 minutes in the first two games, and now we’re paying the price. We jsut pray he’s back for the latter stages.
