Tiffany Stratton may have left Money in the Bank with the briefcase, but fans still aren’t buying the decision. After social media erupted following the finish, the backlash has now carried over to WWE’s official YouTube channel.
WWE uploaded the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match shortly after the show, and the reaction has been impossible to miss. At the time of writing, the video has around 285,700 views, but it’s sitting at roughly 35,600 dislikes compared to just 4,900 likes.
That means nearly 88% of the reactions are dislikes, showing just how unhappy a large portion of viewers were with Stratton coming away with the briefcase. It’s the same criticism that flooded social media after the match, with many fans saying WWE should have gone with Roxanne Perez or used the opportunity to elevate someone who hasn’t already been established near the top of the division.
A lot of the backlash doesn’t seem to be aimed at Tiffany personally. Instead, many fans feel WWE played it safe by giving the briefcase to someone they already view as a main-event talent instead of using it to create a new breakout star. That’s why names like Roxanne Perez kept popping up throughout the online reaction.
Of course, first impressions don’t always tell the whole story. If Tiffany ends up having a great run with the briefcase or delivers a memorable cash-in, it’s entirely possible opinions will change over time. Right now, though, the YouTube numbers show that a lot of fans weren’t happy with how the Women’s Money in the Bank match ended.
Has Tiffany Stratton already won you over as Ms. Money in the Bank, or do you think WWE should’ve gone in a different direction? Sound off in the comments.
