Anthony Joshua shared his thoughts on news that Jake Paul’s boxing career could be over.
Joshua faced Paul back in December in a contest that raised eyebrows since it was announced. Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer, had never faced anyone of Joshua’s standard, with his best win coming over a 59-year-old Mike Tyson. Joshua dealt with Paul in blistering fashion, knocking him out and breaking Paul’s jaw inside six rounds.
Paul has been rather quiet about a return to the ring since that heavy defeat in December, but did share some insight when asked on The Ariel Helwani Show. Paul revealed to Helwani that his doctor had advised Paul not to fight again due to the double fracture to his jaw that required two surgeries to fix.
Joshua, who was answering questions from reporters at the launch press conference of his upcoming bout with Kristian Prenga on July 25, was asked for his thoughts on the news that he may have put an end to Paul’s boxing career.
“That is what was asked of me when I took the fight and I think that I delivered,” Joshua replied.
