Tag Team Match Added to AEW All Out During 9/16 Dynamite

Darby Allin and Steven Borden just landed another massive match, and this one comes with a championship opportunity attached. During the main event of the September 16, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW announced that Allin and Borden will face Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight at All Out, with the winners earning a future AEW World Tag Team Championship shot.

The announcement came after the four men had already gotten physical earlier in the night. Allin and Borden teamed with AEW World Tag Team Champions Adam Copeland and Christian Cage against Fletcher, Knight and FTR, with the babyface side picking up the victory after Allin hit a Coffin Drop and Borden scored the pin.

Now AEW is stripping away the extra bodies and letting the two teams settle things themselves. There is a lot more than bragging rights involved too, because whoever leaves All Out with the win immediately moves into the AEW World Tag Team Championship picture.

That creates an interesting situation considering Copeland and Christian will be defending those exact titles on the same show. The champions are already set to face FTR and The Young Bucks in a three-way TLC match, meaning Allin and Borden or Fletcher and Knight could leave Chicago knowing exactly which team they’re coming after next. AEW previously announced the three-way title match for All Out.

The match is another huge opportunity for Steven Borden as he continues his rapid jump into major AEW matches alongside Allin. Fletcher and Knight have been causing problems throughout the tag division themselves, so AEW is now putting both teams in a match where somebody walks away with a guaranteed path toward gold.

AEW All Out takes place Saturday, September 26, 2026, from NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, with AEW billing the event as its return to Chicago. The pay-per-view main card begins at 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT and will stream on HBO Max in the United States, with MYAEW and other PPV providers carrying the show in additional markets.

The confirmed AEW All Out lineup now includes:

    • AEW World Championship: Will Ospreay (c) vs. Jon Moxley — the title match was locked in earlier this month.
    • AEW World Tag Team Championship — Three-Way TLC Match: Adam Copeland & Christian Cage (c) vs. FTR vs. The Young Bucks.
    • AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship — Chicago Street Fight: The Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter & Alex Windsor) (c) vs. Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne & Lena Kross).
    • AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator: Willow Nightingale vs. Thekla — winner challenges Mercedes Moné at WrestleDream.
    • AEW World Trios Championship: Hangman Page, Brody King & Bandido vs. the winner of Swerve Strickland & The New Level vs. The Demand on the September 23 Dynamite.
    • Darby Allin & Steven Borden vs. Kyle Fletcher & Kevin Knight — winners earn a future AEW World Tag Team Championship opportunity.

All Out is getting a lot more crowded after Dynamite, and now Allin and Borden have a chance to go from a relatively new team to legitimate championship contenders in one night. Fletcher and Knight have the exact same opportunity, which means somebody is leaving Chicago one victory away from the AEW World Tag Team Titles.

Who do you think wins at AEW All Out and earns the next AEW World Tag Team Championship shot — Darby Allin and Steven Borden or Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight? Let us know what you think in the comments.
