The Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer knew that once she became champion, all eyes would be on her. And she is embracing it.
On the Sept. 21 episode of Raw, The Judgment Day took to the ring. Former Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan address Vaquer and also Becky Lynch. Lynch was the referee during the match that Vaquer was able to recapture the title. This took place a couple weeks ago in Vaquer’s home country of Chile during a live house show. Morgan is coining what happened to her as “The Santiago Screw Job” based on Lynch not counting to three when Morgan would have won.
After Morgan spoke her mind and stated she wants a rematch to regain the gold, Lynch took to the mic in the crowd. Lynch said that Morgan learned that it is a lot harder to hold onto the title when it is actually defended…as Morgan held the title for nearly five months, but went 100 days without even defending it.
Vaquer entered the conversation out onto the stage. She has no problem welcoming both Morgan for a rematch and for Lynch to get a match as well. The champion explains she isn’t afraid to take them both on because unlike Morgan, she will be a fighting champion. Vaquer says she will have a talk with Adam Pearce on this.
Later in the night, round two between Lyra Valkyria and Bayley took place. Their first match back in July at Saturday Night’s Main Event left Bayley beaten and bruised and it took her two months to return. This time, Bayley had a more vicious approach. She wanted Valkyria to pay for what transpired their first go around. So much so that Bayley tried once again to put Valkyria through the announce desk but to no avail.
The final moments of the match had Valkyria slip through the legs of Bayley and drove her neck first into the ring ropes. Valkyria then stacked Bayley up with a handful of tights to steal the win. Bayley argued with the referee about this after the match as Valkyria made her way up the ramp.
Roxanne Perez qualified for MITB as well. She confronted Raw’s newest signee who will also be in the MITB match, Lola Vice. More on that can be read here.
