Chelsea have decided to sell Trevoh Chalobah, but as it stands they just can’t quite get a deal over the line with interested clubs.

Chelsea’s summer seems a bit stuck right now – they want to buy players, but first they need to sell, and nothing is quite getting over the line right now.

The closest major deal to be done seems to be the sale of Trevoh Chalobah to Serie A. So far, two teams have showed serious interest – Como and Inter Milan. It felt like the bidding between them would eventually lead to someone offering the fee Chelsea want. But there’s a new twist in the tale – a little bit of collusion.

Fabrizio Romano’s Tweet this morning claims that the Como president reached out to his opposite number in Milan and said that wouldn’t bit for Chalobah until Inter had “left the race” for the Chelsea player, in the interests of avoiding a bidding war and maintaining the “good relationship” between clubs.

This is not ideal for Chelsea, of course. They want a bidding war, not a gentleman’s agreement. Still, Inter are “in talks” with Chalobah’s camp, so hopefully something is finalised soon so the summer can get moving.

    In other news…

Fabrizio Romano dropped a “here we go” for Chelsea this morning, something we really weren’t expecting to see.

Liam Delap is a player Chelsea would probably sell at the right price this summer – but the man himself is determined to stick around and show what he can do, despite a dreadful first season.
