Athena’s ROH Women’s World Title reign is getting another serious test.

Ring of Honor announced that Athena will defend the ROH Women’s World Championship against Syuri at ROH x CMLL x STARDOM Global Wars Cincinnati on June 18.

This is a big one, because Syuri already has a win over Athena. The two faced off at NJPW The New Beginning USA on February 27, where Syuri beat Athena while defending the IWGP Women’s Championship.

Now Athena gets another shot at Syuri, but this time her own title is on the line. Athena has been nearly impossible to stop in ROH. “The Fallen Goddess” has held the ROH Women’s World Title for over 1,270 days after winning it at ROH Final Battle 2022. She has also made 36 successful title defenses.

The current lineup for ROH Global Wars: Cincinnati on June 18 includes:

    • ROH Women’s World Championship: Athena (c) vs. Syuri

Athena has dominated ROH for years, but Syuri already proved she can beat her. Now fans will see if Athena gets revenge or if Syuri ends one of the most dominant title reigns in women’s wrestling.
