WWE legend Rey Mysterio says his daughter Aalyah had her first Performance Center match after two weeks of training.
WWE recently named Aalyah Mysterio as part of its new class of recruits. She had already visited the company’s Performance Center with her father, Rey Mysterio, last year and also trained with Natalya at her Dungeon 2.0 facility.
She’s no stranger to fans, as she previously appeared on WWE television during Rey and Dominik Mysterio’s feud with Seth Rollins. She had a romantic angle with current AEW star Buddy Matthews as part of the storyline. Aalyah Mysterio recently appeared in the background during an NXT backstage segment involving members of the women’s locker room. She’s yet to make her official in-ring debut.
Rey Mysterio recalls Aalyah’s first WWE Performance Center match
During his appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story? podcast, Rey Mysterio revealed that Aalyah started training at the WWE Performance Center in February 2026. He said he was impressed by his daughter’s performance after seeing her compete in her first PC match after training for only two weeks.
“The first time she stepped into the ring was last October, and it was for about an hour. She wanted to step in the ring, and I told her, ‘Not until you graduate.’ She graduated in June, and in October I took her to the PC. We jumped into the ring, and she was very natural. Hitting the ropes, rolling, stuff that I have seen other students take time to pick up, she was picking up very fast. That happened in October, and she really liked it. ‘Dad, I would love to try it now,’” Rey Mysterio began.
“February of this year, I got her to go to the PC for two weeks without me being there. Wake up, train, go home, sleep, do it the next day. She did that for two weeks, and on the last day they asked her to have a PC live match. They put the match together; Norman Smiley was the coach, and she had her first match. When I saw it, I was like, ‘There is no way.’ She’s my daughter; I’m probably biased, but there is something special there. It’s crazy. She moved to Florida in late July and has been training since August,” Rey Mysterio said. [H/T Fightful]
