Raul Jimenez speaks for the first time on making the decision to re-join Wolves, after his contract with Fulham expired.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, who were relegated to the Championship in April, have wasted no time on getting a deal done with Jimenez, who signs a two-year contract with an option for a third year.

The 35 year old, who scored 57 goals in 166 appearances for Wolves between 2019 and 2023 before moving to Fulham, becomes the second signing of the summer.

Kieran Trippier also signed for the club, you can see what he had to say HERE.

Find out what Jimenez, Edwards and Jackson had to say in the below…

Raul said: “Well, it feels really amazing, exciting to be back there where I live my best years as a footballer. So I want to keep pushing like that, as it was my first time and bring the team back to where it deserves.”

Interviewer: “And obviously for our supporters the idea of you returning has been like a dream For you, when did the dream feel like it was going to become a reality? When did you start to think things were happening?”

Raul: “Well, I had a meeting with Nathan, chairman and when we first spoke I felt like a really good connection with him with the team again so I felt like I was gonna enjoy again being on the own Wolverhampton.”

Interviewer: “And people often say never go back right that’s the same people often say but what convinces you that returning to Wolves is the right thing to do?”

Raul: “Well I think our history didn’t end in the best way. So I feel like it’s time to do it right for the both of us, the team, the Wolves and me to, I knew our paths were gonna come back together. So what a better opportunity to do it than now.”

Interviewer: “And obviously we’re talking to on the eve of the World Cup being hosted in your country. How important is it for you to have this all sorted? You can concentrate on your football and maybe Wolves fans can go and buy their Mexico shirts and start supporting you.”

Raul: “Yeah, it’s really important for me to now ah concentrate for the World Cup to be here with the national team. Just concentrated in the World Cup, nothing else and having a team, having Wolves there already with me, it’s really, really amazing and I’m really excited about it.”

Interviewer: “And you’ve obviously been away from the football club for a few years, but it feels like the connection’s always remained.”

Raul: “Yeah, yeah, it’s always remained. Every time I played against Wolves, even in London, when I went back to to Wolverhampton to the Molineux, I felt that connection. Even this last time I went there, it was really, really amazing what I lived there, even being in the other team.”

Interviewer: “And you’ve already achieved so much in Wolves’ Gold. What are your targets now? What’s next?”

Raul: “Well, first of all, go back to the Premier League and then score as many goals as I can. Being a leader there in the dressing room, being a really important part of the team and not only on the pitch, outside of the pitch as well, being like an example of how to work inside and outside the pitch.”

Interviewer: “And you and your family experienced so many special and emotional moments in Wolverhampton. How excited are you to return to the city?”

Raul: “Yeah, it’s really excited because both of my kids were born there. We know what it’s in Wolverhampton, so we are really, really, really excited. When I told them there was a possibility to join back, they were really, really, really good. Really expect, with all our big expectation. And also my kids don’t know really because they were younger when we were there. They like the Wolves’ badge. So they really like to be back there.

Interviewer: “And you’ve already mentioned how special the reception the fans gave you at that game at Molineux. What did that mean to you, the Si Señors and everything that went on?”

Raul: “Well, it meant because I had that meeting with the chairman a week before. And then going there, back to Molineux and here all that made it easier for me to make a decision. All the fans, all the guys with the team, it’s amazing. All the reception, the fans and the club gave me.”

Interviewer: “And just talking about that reception, that Si Señors is going be really special, isn’t it? From the first home game.”

Raul: “Yeah, I want to be there already to hear that again. I think last time was really, really amazing, well, now being with this uniform, with this kit, it’s gonna be now even better.”

Interviewer: “And just finally, the supporters are gonna love having you back. Do you have a message for them?”

Raul: “Yeah, I’m really glad to be back, to be part of the pack again. And well, once a wolf, always a wolf.”

Fulham’s Tony Khan said in a club statement: “Since joining us in 2023, Raúl Jiménez has been tremendous for Fulham!

“He has always done his best for the squad and for the supporters, and we are grateful for his valuable contributions to the team during his time here.

“All the very best for the future, Raúl, and thank you! Come on Fulham!”
