Raquel Rodriguez has become the number one contender to Sol Ruca’s WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. On the June 29 episode of Raw, Rodriguez defeated former champion, Maxxine Dupri.
The final moments had Dupri try to capitalize on her momentum with another kick but Rodriguez caught her. Rodriguez landed the Tejana Bomb for the win.
The new Queen, IYO SKY, was on this week’s show after winning the crown over the weekend against Liv Morgan. She had immediately chosen Morgan as her opponent at SummerSlam.
SKY celebrating out in the ring quickly became an ambush as Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez joined in on the fight. SKY did what she could to fight them off but eventually Morgan locked in the single crab submission.
After Dupri’s loss, Austin Theory questioned where Dupri stands after a quick talk with Chad Gable.
