A decisive 3-0 victory over Celtic in the Scottish League Cup has seen Rangers’ odds of winning silverware shorten across the board with William Hill.
Rangers’ price to win the William Hill Premiership and League Cup double has been cut to 6/1 from 11/1, while they are 11/2 from 10/1 to land a cup double.
A treble in Derek McInnes’ first season in charge is now an 18/1 chance from 33/1.
Rangers swept Celtic aside at Ibrox in the Scottish League Cup quarter-final to reach the semi-finals, where they will face Aberdeen. Captain Dan Neil scored twice and Kevin Kelsy also found the net in a commanding victory for McInnes in his first Old Firm match as Rangers manager.
With Rangers and Celtic set to meet again in the William Hill Premiership this weekend, the Gers’ chances of securing a quickfire double over their bitter rivals have improved slightly to 12/5 from 5/2, with Celtic the 19/20 favourites.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Rangers’ impressive 3-0 win over Celtic in the Scottish League Cup quarter-final could be the spark that ignites the Ibrox side this season, and we’ve since seen their chances of silverware slashed.
“Derek McInnes’ side are now 6/1 to do the William Hill Premiership and League Cup double, while they’re an 18/1 shot to land a historic treble in his first season in charge.
“Another win over their bitter rivals at Parkhead this weekend would certainly underline their credentials, and they can be backed at 12/5 to get the job done again on Sunday.”
