“We have cut the budget. As you guys have probably noticed, there’s no more talk shows,” said Malignaggi on Paulie TV.

“We’ve cut the budget because we’re trying to sustain ourselves. We’re trying to keep the lights on. We’re trying to keep the operation moving.”

Malignaggi added that ProBoxTV plans to reduce its schedule to one event per month, down from its current pace, in an effort to lower costs.

The former two-division world champion said the company hopes the subscription model will allow it to continue operating while still providing boxing content and live events.

“We’re going to have one show a month. We’re going to continue to bring you quality fights, but we need your support,” said Malignaggi.

The most notable part of the announcement came when Malignaggi discussed the long-term future of the platform if subscriber numbers fail to meet expectations.

“If we don’t get enough subscriptions to sustain this, ProBox will be gone for good,” Malignaggi said.

“We are going to ride off into the sunset by the end of the year if we don’t get the fanfare and support necessary.”

Founded in 2022, ProBoxTV established itself as a regular source of prospect fights, contender bouts, and boxing discussion programming. The platform has featured commentary and analysis from several well-known figures in the sport while promoting cards throughout North America.

ProBoxTV will continue operating under its new model. But Malignaggi made it clear that the platform’s future will depend heavily on whether boxing fans are willing to support the service when subscriptions begin in August.
