Oba Femi’s final appearance before his huge SummerSlam match with Brock Lesnar was full of tension. But it wasn’t just about his face-off with Lesnar; the opening segment of the July 27 episode of RAW had some technical issues too. Moreover, Femi even appeared to save one of the WWE extras after his move didn’t go as planned.
The segment ended in chaos as Femi took out several security guards after exchanging words with Lesnar inside the Hell in a Cell.
RAW opened with the Hell in a Cell hanging above the ring as Triple H and Adam Pearce hosted the official weigh-in for the SummerSlam match.
Oba Femi stepped onto the scale first. Brock Lesnar then came out with Paul Heyman, but he refused to enter the Cell. Instead, he stayed outside while Heyman said there had been a “change of plans,” claiming it wasn’t smart to lock Lesnar inside the Cell before SummerSlam.
Then, Heyman’s microphone started malfunctioning repeatedly. However, he continued his promo and reminded everyone that Lesnar had never lost inside Hell in a Cell and revealed his official weight as well.
After Lesnar called Femi a “b*tch”, Femi answered by saying the Cell wouldn’t trap him with Lesnar; it would trap Lesnar with him.
Once the Beast walked away, Femi attacked several WWE extras playing security guards that were present in the ring.
One moment stood out during the attack.
While setting up his Fall From Grace powerbomb, Femi seemed to lose control of one guard during the lift. The guard started falling awkwardly, and it looked like his neck could have landed in a dangerous position.
Instead of forcing the move, Femi put the guard down, adjusted his grip, lifted him again, and completed the powerbomb properly. The guard landed safely on his back instead of on his neck.
The moment looked like a mistake at first, but Femi’s quick reaction may have helped prevent a more serious injury.
The segment ended with The Ruler throwing the weighing scale while tossing and kicking the extras outside the ring.
