Robert Stone has reacted to Zilla Fatu’s surprise WWE NXT debut, admitting that things did not go quite the way he had planned.
Fatu’s debut came after reports that he had signed with WWE began circulating earlier in the day. His arrival followed a recent visit to the WWE Performance Center and earlier reports that WWE was interested in bringing him into the company.

The August 11 episode of NXT ended with Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana fighting for a shot at Tony D’Angelo’s NXT Championship at Heatwave. D’Angelo was sitting at the commentary desk and watching the match closely.
Montana looked close to winning after hitting his Spin the Block clothesline. However, before he could go for the pin, Zilla Fatu suddenly appeared in the ring from the crowd. He then attacked both Montana and Waller. The debuting star hit both stars with several Samoan Splashes. With neither man able to continue, officials stopped the match.
Fatu then turned his attention toward D’Angelo at ringside. With the champion watching, Fatu sent a message that he sees himself as the next major threat to the NXT Championship.
The NXT General Manager took to social media after the episode ended and addressed Fatu’s interruption of the NXT Championship No. 1 contender’s match. While Fatu’s arrival has left the title picture unclear, Stone still praised NXT and asked fans to tune in again next week.
“Not exactly how I wanted it all to happen, but I’ll say this… @WWENXT is CANNOT miss television weekly! See ya next Tuesday LIVE!” Stone tweeted.
The No. 1 contender’s match was eventually ruled a no contest, which means NXT still does not have a confirmed challenger for D’Angelo at Heatwave.
