Joey McGuire and Texas Tech got back in the Notre Dame conversation again this week after news about there being a possibility the Texas Longhorns may not end up playing the Irish in their scheduled games.
First of all… McGuire is a phenomenal salesman/promoter right now. Seriously — regardless of any comments made that might cast Notre Dame in a negative light, he’s putting on his Red Raider suit and sneaking into the Notre Dame conversation like a real bandit. I respect the hell out of that.
So… if Texas backs out of its games with Notre Dame, should the Irish immediately call Texas Tech? Should the Irish schedule Texas Tech anyways? It’s a game that has never been played before, and it does help open more ND vs Big 12 games for the future (which they should probably do a little more of if we’re bring honest).

Mark me down as someone who want to schedule the game regardless. At least Texas Tech is taking football and winning seriously — or at least trying to.
