New details on Tessa Blanchard‘s TNA exit emerge.
Earlier this week, news of Tessa Blanchard’s TNA departure broke, with reports indicating that she requested, then received her release from the company. The reason behind Blanchard’s exit was initially unknown, but according to a new report, it was politically motivated.
According to PWInsider, Blanchard couldn’t continue her dual work with CMLL and TNA Wrestling due to the latter’s relationship with WWE. In addition to WWE being a partner promotion to TNA, it acquired AAA, a known competitor to CMLL, in 2025, hence the potential conflicts of interest. CMLL is also a partner to All Elite Wrestling, one of WWE’s main rivals. The outlet noted that Blanchard opted to leave TNA and maintain her CMLL status as a result.
Blanchard’s history with CMLL dates back to 2023. Since then, she’s competed in over 150 matches under the CMLL banner, three of which have come this month so far.
Blanchard returned to TNA in December 2024 by attacking fellow former Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace at the Final Resolution event. In more recent months, she aligned herself with Victoria Crawford (fka WWE’s Alicia Fox) and Mila Moore to form the Diamond Collective.
How or if TNA will address Blanchard’s exit in relation to Diamond Collective has yet to be seen. She leaves the company for the second time as a former TNA Knockouts Champion, TNA World Champion, and Knockout of the Year.
